What is Lunabrite™?
Lunabrite™ is a new, patent pending indoor/outdoor photo luminescent light. Lunabrite™ uses light (either room or sunlight) to fully charge in only 5-30 minutes, and then emits light for 8+ hours. The brightest light is visible in the first 3-4 hours and then diminishes slowly after that. Lunabrite™ can glow as long as 12+ hours without a recharge. It is completely rechargeable.
Lunabrite™ is a flexible light tube technology with an attachable edge that is beneficial in many applications. The 360° round design displays light with high visibility.
How does it work?
Lunabrite™ works on the molecular level and absorbs light to charge (the only known failure of Lunabrite™ is to receive no light). Lunabrite™ charges through exposure to sun or lamp light. Lunabrite™ is constantly either charging or emitting light.
How is Lunabrite™ different from other light alternatives?
Unlike LED or Electro Luminescence (EL), Lunabrite™ uses no batteries, bulbs or wiring. Although not as bright as wired LED or lighting, benefits include being lightweight, no heat output, completely maintenance free and can safely be used around children, water and pets.
How is Lunabrite™ different from Retro Reflective products?
Retro reflective and Lunabrite™ lights actually work in opposite ways of each other. Retro reflective reflects light that bounces back from light shining on it. Lunabrite™ emits light in darkness. That is why most Lunabrite™ pet products by Sherpa Pet Group have both Lunabrite™ and retro reflective for your pet’s maximum protection.
How is Lunabrite™ different from “Glow in the Dark” children’s toys or Exit signs?
Lunabrite™ is flexible, conformable with 360° radiance. It operates differently than traditional products and is based on a patent pending formula. The glow is 50% brighter and lasts approximately 10X longer than other products.
Can Lunabrite™ be washed?
Lunabrite™ can be washed in a standard washing machine. It will not have any effect upon light performance. Lunabrite™ has been put, through dryer tests with no loss in performance. However, most washing machine manufacturers do not recommend putting any plastic-type product in a dryer.
What type of light works best to charge Lunabrite™?
Either indoor or outdoor light works fine as long as Lunabrite™ is exposed to it for at least 5 minutes. 30 minutes of exposure provides the maximum glow. To “super charge”, place Lunabrite™ directly near a very bright light for a couple of minutes. It will charge very quickly and glow immediately when placed in darkness.
I flipped my lights on and off (or I went outside after being in a brightly lit house) and it took me a few seconds until I was able to see Lunabrite™. Why is that?
It takes the human eye a few seconds to adjust to darkness. This is similar to the effect of walking into a darkened movie theater. If you flip lights on and off, your eyes will take a moment to adjust to both dark and light.
How many years will Lunabrite™ last?
Lunabrite™ lasts for many years (up to 20 years in our tests). It is likely that you would replace the product (collar, lead, etc) before you would need to replace Lunabrite™.
What does Patent Pending mean for Lunabrite™?
Lunabrite™ holds Patent Pending status with the US Patent Office. That means that Lunabrite technology is protected by law through the time a final Patent is issued.
Is Lunabrite™ radioactive?
No, it is not. Lunabrite is a non-toxic, earth friendly product and is completely rechargeable!
Will I see Lunabrite™ in other pet products?
